1942 - 1950

A serial publication of Alexander Tvardovski's war poem Vassilij Tjorkin which described a soldier's life during the WWII was extremely popular during the War and caused a wave of readers' sequels. Technically, it is not correct to define Tjorkin's readership as a fandom, but their creations (some of which were published) were essentially proto-fanfics.
